It has become increasingly popular in recent years, particularly among younger demographics, and allows users to add music, filters, effects, and other creative features to their videos. 


The app features a "For You" page that uses an algorithm to suggest content to users based on their interests and activity on the app. TikTok has also become a popular platform for social media influencers and brands to promote their content and products to a wide audience.
