By the end of this 1-day course, participants will be able to:

Navigate the Amazon Lex console and set up a bot environment using a low-code interface.
Design intents and utterances for natural language interactions with end-users.
Configure slots and prompts to gather user input like date, time, and preferences.
Create multi-turn dialogues using Lex’s built-in dialog flow tools—no code required.
Test and refine chatbot responses directly within the AWS console to handle various scenarios.
Apply best practices in chatbot design including context management and validation logic.
Publish and integrate bots with digital channels like web and messaging platforms.
Troubleshoot and iterate using Lex’s built-in tools and documentation resources.

Morning Session (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
Module 1: Introduction to Agentic AI and Amazon Lex (1 hour)
Overview of Agentic AI and conversational interfaces
Introduction to Amazon Lex: Features, use cases, and benefits
Setting up an AWS account and navigating the Lex console
Lab: Configure AWS credentials and explore the Lex console
Module 2: Designing Intents and Utterances (1 hour)
Understanding intents and utterances
Creating a sample chatbot (e.g., Restaurant Booking Bot)
Defining sample utterances and prompts
Lab: Build a basic Lex bot with intents for booking a table
Break (15 minutes)
Module 3: Configuring Slots and Prompts (1 hour)
Introduction to slots and slot types
Setting up slots for data collection (e.g., date, time, party size)
Customizing prompts and responses
Lab: Add slots to the Restaurant Booking Bot and test interactions
Afternoon Session (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM)
Module 4: Dialog Management and Testing (1.5 hours)
Configuring dialog flows and validation prompts
Managing multi-turn conversations without code
Testing and refining bot interactions in the Lex console
Lab: Enhance the bot with multi-turn dialog and test edge cases
Module 5: Best Practices and Deployment (1 hour)
Designing effective conversational flows
Adding context and session attributes in the Lex console

Lab: Finalize and publish the Restaurant Booking Bot
